All December Orders Placed by the 26th Shipped Today

  • Status:

All December orders that were placed prior to the 26th have shipped as of today.  The ice storm that rolled into Oklahoma the evening of December 9th knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of residents throughout our state.  It was a frightening night trying to get some sleep that evening as large tree branches could be heard breaking & crashing throughout the neighborhood.  We have two very old Elm trees in our backyard and two 20-year old Sawtooth Oak trees in our front yard.  All four trees were severely damaged.  Three of the four trees dropped branches onto our roof throughout the night.  By morning our front steps were blocked by fallen branches as was the street in front of our house.  Although the storm had passed by morning, branches continued to fall all morning as they gave way under the weight of the ice.  Just walking to our car was pretty scary because we didn't know when more branches might fall.

I hate to use a cliche' but it really did feel like a war zone.  We were able to stay at my brother's place while we waited for power to be restored to our neighborhood.  Eighteen days later, I have yet to see an insurance adjustor (although I've been told they're on their way) and I'm still trying to find a reasonable quote on tree removal/trimming and an estimate for the roof.  But at least we're back home and getting settled back in.
